Hola Estrellitas!!

Today we are happy to share our first of many editions of EFR's "From the Runway to the Red Carpet" column.

Gentlemen’s Fashion Week 1st VIP Party 2015

By: Farrah Estrella
Gentlemen’s Fashion Week (GFW) kicked off yesterday with the 1st of 6th VIP Parties ending with a big fashion week event next year.

Gentlemen’sFashion Week is the brainchild of fashion show producer Mayra Gomez. A former model and industry professional, Mayra has produced numerous fashion shows and has been featured in local, national, and online publications such as the New York Times, Washington Post, The Associated Press and dozens of other media outlets. For 2 years in a row  (2013 and 2014) she produced one of Tampa Bay’s biggest fashion shows “Rays on the Runway”, featuring the Tampa Bay Rays and benefiting the Children's Dream Fund.

The theme of tonight’s party was “Fashionable Menswear” and the guests were encouraged to come in wearing their most fashionable men inspired or menswear attire. Guest also enjoyed mixing and mingling with other local members of the Gentlemen's Fashion Week community, food and drinks.

The event was FREE but you have to go to their website to register to get a ticket for this and for future GFW VIP Parties. A donation at the door was suggested and all proceeds were going to benefit the Dexter Jackson MVP Foundation.

Check out some pictures from the 1st GFW VIP Party below. For more information on Gentlemen’s Fashion Week visit their website at www.gentlemensfashionweek.com.

My current fashion obsession: Obi Belts

By: Farrah Estrella

Hola Estrellitas!!

I am currently obsessed with Obi Belts. Inspired by Japanese Obi sashes (worn with Kimonos), they are usually made out of leather but they can be made out of fabric too just like the ones for the Kimonos.

Obi belts of course are nothing new but as a plus size girl, I have never been able to find a belt that fits so great. Most belts that are made for plus size women are either too thin or made out of elastic and if you have rolls like most of us do, the belt is going to roll up. The Obi belt doesn’t do that and that is why I like it so much. Because of the wide band, it feels secure and it looks very elegant with anything you wear.

Check out some of my favorite ones below as well as a few examples of how I incorporated the belt into some of my looks in the past. What do you guys think?. Leave your comments below.

Ready for Fall wearing luxurious knitwear by Cushie B.

By: Farrah Estrella

Fall/Winter is right around the corner, although it doesn’t seem so in Florida where I live but in other parts of the country and the world, it will be soon.

Online plus size boutique Cushie B. gifted me this gorgeous cobalt blue sweater and white top and I couldn’t wait to show it off. This sweater is going to be one of my staple pieces for Fall/Winter for sure. I love the color and the cocoon style of the sweater. The sleeveless white top has some beautiful details on it, as you know fashion is all about the details.

Cushie B. was founded by Val Thompson who grew up in the U.K with dreams of being a costume designer. While in fashion design school she discover her passion for knitwear thus giving birth to her line of luxurious knitwear that she named Cushie B.

The name Cushie B., comes from the chorus of a folk song from her hometown of Newcastle in Northern England, how clever is that?. The collection comes in sizes 1x (14-16), 2x (18-20) and 3x (22-24) and the price of the line ranges from $45 to $195 dollars.

The quality is very good, it is a very high end line that if I had to compare it to another line, it would be Eileen Fisher or NIC + ZOE in terms of quality and price points, just to give you guys an idea.

Check out some pictures of my outfit below. Please visit the Cushie B. website for more information and to shop at www.cushieb.com.

Handbag is from Desigual
Jeans and Shoes are from Lane Bryant

**This is a sponsored post, the sweater and top were gifted to me by Cushie B. but all opinions are my own.

Fall 2015 Trend: Military Glam

By: Farrah Estrella

Hola Estrellitas!!

One of the hottest trends this fall is the Military Glam trend.

Personally I like it a lot, I would pair it with gold or silver accents (shoes, jewelry etc..) to make it more feminine.

The camo print and the combination of the colors olive green, khaki, as well brown leather, grey and black are very in right now, from dresses to pants and even jumpsuits.

Check out some of our favorite picks for this Fall trend. What do you guys think? Do you like this trend, yay or nay?.
