Eloquii uses size 28 model in their latest lookbook (Photos)

By: Farrah Estrella

Plus size retailer Eloquii used a size 28 plus size model for their latest lookbook. Eloquii is an online plus size brand that offers clothing sizes 14 to 24 but they also have extended sizes in some of the clothing up to a size 26-28.

This is not the first time that the brand is pushing the boundaries of fashion by using plus models in the bigger end of plus, this is actually the third time. On the other two lookbooks the models were size 26; this is the first time that they use a size 28 plus model.

I hope that this goes viral and that the brand gets major props for showing size diversity and using models that represent their customer. Not all plus size customers are a size 14 and this why it is important to show the clothing in bigger bodies in order for the customer to get a better idea of what the clothes are going to look like on them.

If you missed the other 2 lookbooks click on the links below to see them:

Check out the pictures from the new lookbook below, what do you guys think?.

Chanel Airlines took flight in Paris today at Paris Fashion Week

Chanel Airlines took flight in Paris today at Paris Fashion Week as Karl Lagerfeld, head designer for Chanel, converted the Grand Palais into an airport terminal complete with flight attendants, Gate No 5, waiting room seats and more.

Every year Chanel “throws the house out of the window” like we say in DR, and puts on an amazing show during Paris Fashion Week. From a garden to a supermarket one year, this year’s inspiration was flight.

The models had rolling suitcases and the guests aka “The passengers” were given retro style plane tickets as invitations to the show. Throughout the collection, the models wore airplane pins, airplane fabrics along with the classic Chanel tweed and aviator sunglasses.

If you are a child of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s or even the early 90’s, you might remember how glamorous it was to travel, post 911 not so much anymore.

Back then it was cool to be a flight attendant and the Chanel airplane pins surely are an ode to those days when if you were a kid on a plane, they used to give you an airplane pin and you thought it was the greatest thing in the world especially if you were lucky enough to get it from the captain himself.

Chanel brought the nostalgia of flying today to Paris Fashion Week as it comes to a close tomorrow and Captain Karl took us on a great flight. Now, how can I get a hold of those airplane pins??...humm lol that is the question.

Five fabulous plus size bloggers over a size 20

By: Farrah Estrella

When you are over a size 20 and you are looking for fashion inspiration just like every other girl in the world and you open a fashion magazine and don’t see anybody over a size 2 in it,  it is very discouraging. Who can plus size women over a size 20 look up to for inspiration? Plus Size Bloggers.

Many brands and magazines are afraid to use a plus model over a size 14 because they may have a little tummy, some jiggle and it might be a little bit too real for them. Well, for most plus size women that is our reality. We have big tummies, we have fat arms, we have some jiggle and that is ok. This is why plus size fashion bloggers are making such a huge impact in the plus size community and have such huge followings. They are being real, they are living their truth and looking fabulous while at it. They are inspiration to other plus size women.

Here are five plus size bloggers over a size 20 that I admire and I look up to for fashion, style tips and overall fabulousness.

2-Jessica Kane of Life&
Jessica is body positive advocate and founder of Skorch Magazine, she is also a size 26. Her style is very classy and she says that she has an apple shape.

3-Manfattan of
This Manhattan based 6 foot 3 stunning beauty looks great in anything she wears. Maybe is her gorgeous hair, skin or her height, we love that she is super tall.

4-Reah Norman of
In addition to fashion blogger, Reah is a fashion stylist who specializes in the plus industry. She is also the executive fashion director for Plus Model Magazine.

6-Marcy Cruz of Fearlessly Just Me

New product alert: Xpandasox® socks for wide calves

By: Farrah Estrella

Hola Estrellitas!!

While at Full Figured Fashion Week 2015 this past Summer, I was introduced to a brand new product that I want to share with you all, it is called Xpandasox®.

Xpandasox are socks that fit everybody including people like me with wide calves. Founded by Sharon Thorp, her idea for Xpandasox came out of her listening to customer’s feedback that socks sometimes fit to tight or rolled down our legs when you have wide calves. You won't' have that problem with Xpandasox, these socks feature their trademark “Xpandapanel” that stretches up to 24 inches in the calf area and even though Sharon’s idea was initially conceived for people with wider or athletic calves, she soon realized that Xpandasox® are also ideal for anyone with leg swelling due to frequent travel, pregnancy or health conditions. They also stretch to accommodate casts and braces, and are ideal for use with sock aids.

Another thing that I like about the company is that for every pair of Xpandasox® purchased, the company will be depositing 1 pair into their "Sock Bank”. Socks are one of the most asked item in homeless shelters in the USA, and they have partnered with organizations that will withdraw socks from their sock bank to give to those in need,  what a great idea!! Personally, I love supporting companies that give back to the community.

The price of the socks is from $16 to $18, they come in a variety of colors and they even have a unisex collection, because men have wide calves too.

Have you tried Xpandasox? Let me know what you think of the product, I would love to get some feedback from you, leave your comments below.
