Safari inspired outfit from Lane Bryant

By: Farrah Estrella
Farrah Estrella
Hola Estrellitas!!

I am in Love with my outfit today, it is a safari inspired outfit from Lane Bryant. I felt very modern and chic wearing it, like a world traveler. I was thinking Africa when I saw this look on the Lane Bryant website.

The belted moto vest was one of the first pieces that inspired my look. When I saw the oversized lapels, asymmetric zipper detail and the pockets, I was sold. I also like the belted waist which defines your shape more and when I got it in the mail and felt the fabric (a rayon/spandex mix) I was more in love with it.

The flight pants I LOVED as soon as I saw them but I was a little hesitant that it might not fit me well because I have big hips but to my surprise, it fits great. They are sort of like a mixture between a cargo pant and a relaxed-fit jogger.
They have an elastic waistband and the fit is loose, which is good because they would look estrange on me if they were tight. The pants also have zipper pockets.

Here is some of the runway looks that inspired my outfit for today:

Check out more pictures of my look below. I added the handbag for a pop of color, what do you guys think? Leave your comments.

NEW!! Eloquii sizes 26/28 Lookbook featuring fashion stylist Reah Norman

By: Farrah Estrella
Reah Norman for Eloquii extended sizes 26/28
Online plus size retailer Eloquii just released their new lookbook for their extended sizes 26/28 featuring fashion stylist, blogger and plus size expert Reah Norman of Styled by Reah.

You might remember that a few weeks back when they launched their extended sizes 26/28, they featured blogger Sarah Conley on the lookbook whom we also featured on our blog.

We love Reah!!, she has great style and knows how to dress for her size and body type. Being a size 24 myself, I love seeing girls my size or bigger wearing these cool outfits because now I can see what the outfit might look like on me.

It makes want to buy everything! Of course it doesn’t hurt that Reah is an amazing stylist and she probably styled herself for the shoot, she is super talented. I like how all the looks are put together.

Check out pictures of the lookbook below and tell us what you think. Shop Eloquii online at www.eloquii.com.

Designer Junya Watanabe gets criticized for African-Theme collection with no black models

By: Farrah Estrella

Fashion designer Junya Watanabe got slammed by fashion critics for presenting an African-Theme collection in Paris this week and having no black models on the runway.

The models wore traditional African cloth with necklaces, spears and even wooden masks. Part of the controversy is that some of the white models wore dreadlock wigs. Twitter was not kind either, reading some of the tweets some people call the collection the “Rachel Dolezal Collection”…ouch!!..

According to Style.com Watanabe’s theme was “Faraway” nowhere specific and she collaborated with Dutch Fabric Company Vlisco for this collection.

Some people might argue that there are white Africans and that they are usually ignored by the general public as most people assume that African people are only black. What do you guys think?

Check out some pictures from the collection below and tell us what you think?

Misty Copeland makes history as first black Principal Ballerina at the American Ballet Theater

By: Farrah Estrella
Misty Copeland
Misty Copeland just made history today as she became the first black principal ballerina at the American Ballet Theater.

The American Ballet Theater has been around for 75 years and they never had a black female principal ballerina. Misty has been in the company for 14 years and has been a soloist for 8 of those years.

Just Last week, she became the first black ballerina to dance Swan Lake at the Metropolitan Opera House. Misty told Time.com "I am here to be a vessel for all of those brown ballerinas who have come before me".

I have been following Misty’s career for a very long time and she is so deserving of this, she has worked very hard and this is what happens when you are at the top of your game.

Congratulations Misty!!

Catherines Style Ambassador for June 2015 look #4: Teal Capri Pants and Tunic

By: Farrah Estrella
Plus Size Capri Pants on the Estrella Fashion Report

Hola Estrellitas!!

This is my 4th and last look as the “Style Ambassador” for plus size retailer Catherines for the month of June 2015. I was having so much fun!! Oh no..lol..I wish I could do this all the time, I really had a great time doing it and I want to thank Catherines for giving me the opportunity and you guys for supporting me.

Now let's talk about the look. It is Summer and I love these teal color capri pants. I like to dress for fun and for comfort, if I am not comfortable, I am not wearing it. In my opinion, clothes should make you feel good not uncomfortable. These pants are very comfortable and another thing I like about them is that you also have the option to make them shorter as they have a button on the side where you can pull them up. The top/tunic is very shapely not boxy like a lot of tunics tend to make you look and this is why I chose it, I don’t want to look bigger than I already am, I don’t think any woman does.

I wanted to show you different looks, a dressy look, a more casual look etc..I think I accomplished what I set out to do. Well guys, I hope you enjoyed my four looks from Catherines this month, here is a picture of all four looks:

Shop for these looks by visiting your local Catherines store and online at www.catherines.com.

Check out more pictures from this week’s look below. Did you enjoy the four looks? Let me know in the comments.

Until next time…

Tru Diva Designs by Veronica L. showcased her latest collection for the second time at Full Figured Fashion Week 2015 that was held last night in New York City.

Veronica said on her website about her Tru Diva line and her inspiration for it: “My main inspiration was going to department stores and boutiques, finding ill fitting, lack luster garments.  They weren’t sexy and, the fabrics didn’t flatter the curvy form. When women wear Tru Diva, I want them to feel confident and sophisticated”. She also won "Designer of the Year" in this year's industry awards.

Check out pictures from her showcase below and tell us what you think. Leave your comments. For more information on Tru Diva Designs visit her website www.trudiva.com.
