Designer collaborations are one of the hottest trends right now in fashion and they seem to be doing very well (recently the Lilly Pulitzer for Target collaboration sold out within hours).

Kohl’s announced yesterday their next designer collaboration with designer Thakoon Panichgul.
This will be Kohl’s 7th designer collaboration, they have previously collaborated with designers such as: Narciso Rodriguez, Derek Lam, Catherine Malandrino, Peter Som and Elie Tahari as well as the upcoming collaboration with MILLY by Michelle Smith launching on April 23, 2015.

Oscar de la Renta Bridal Spring 2016 (Photos)

By: Farrah Estrella

Peter Copping showcased his first Bridal collection this week since taking over the helm of the Oscar de la Renta brand last Fall.

The 25 piece collection was very simple and elegant. “Basically, I just wanted to offer a really good cross-section of different types of dresses so that it could appeal to many different sorts of brides,” he told WWD in an interview backstage.

One of the things that I like the most about the Oscar de la Renta Bridal Collection is that they almost always have children on the runway, just adorable!!.

Carolina Herrera Bridal Spring 2016

Romantic, sophisticated and elegant are some of the words we can use to describe Carolina Herrera's Bridal Spring 2016 Collection.

She used silk, Chantilly lace and organza to bring her vision to live. The models wore jasmine in their hands and in their hair. “When I was growing up, my bedroom was near the garden next to a jasmine plant,” Herrera told WWD in an interview. “It used to open in the evening, and the smell, I loved it.”

Eye on Fashion 2015 Day 3: Blogger’s Ball 2015

By: Farrah Estrella

The Eye on Fashion 2015 weekend of fashion events concluded yesterday with the Blogger’s Ball, a glamorous party celebrating the contributions of the blogging community in the area of fashion in Tampa Bay.
Blogger’s from the Tampa Bay area and beyond joined together to celebrate, dressed in some of the most fabulous threads. The Ball was hosted by Jorge Alvarado from "The Jorge Show" and proceeds from the event went to benefit Redefining Refuge, a non-profit organization that provides assistance to sexually exploided and trafficked youth.

There was a raflle, music by Saxophonist Marlon Boom, lots of networking and I was also honored wih an award for "Blogger of the Year" for my contributions to fashion in the Tampa Bay area, what an honor!! I was speechless.

The “Eye on Fashion” 3 days of fashion events celebration also included a Men’s Collection Fashion Show and a Fashion Stylist Competition. Check out pictures from the event below.

Eye on Fashion is presented by The Fashion Movement, a fashion production company created by Lacey B. Smith based out of Tampa, Florida. For more information on all of The Fashion Movement events held in Tampa Bay, visit their website at www.thefashionmovement.com.

The Cocoa Couture Fashion Show 2015 at MOSI in Tampa

By: Farrah Estrella

Hola Estrellitas!!
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to be a judge for the 3rd year in a row of the Cocoa Couture Fashion show that was held at MOSI (Museum of Science and Industry) in Tampa. The Fashion show is part of the festivities of the Festival of Chocolate, a two day chocolate extravaganza that is held at the museum every year.

This is one of my favorite festivals in Tampa because you guys already know, I am HUGE chocolate lover. The Cocoa Couture Fashion Show is also a competition were aspiring designers make chocolate inspired outfits with at least 50% chocolate wrappers or chocolate itself, how cool is that!! Way cool. Garments are also judged on their originality/creativity, overall construction of the garment and choco-liciousness =).
Joining me as a judge were last year's winner designer Jessica Martinez and Tampa Bay Times Journalist Amy Scherzer.

This year the organizers added a junior category for kids as young as 7 years old to 14 years old, to encourage kids to be creative. Check out pictures from the event below.
